We just completed the first day of our journey from Kalispell to Albuquerque New Mexico. It was a long day but I really felt good I think mostly because it was cool and I paced myself pretty well. It started out at 39 degrees and ended at 78. There were no big climbs, just lots of really gradual rolling hills. We had a headwind the last 30 miles. The scenery was beautiful with my favorite being the many crystal blue lakes we rode beside. Another highlight was looking at a mountaintop across Summit Lake and seeing snow at the top and partway down the sides. I managed to leave both my water bottles at the last stop so I rode the last 22 miles in to Missoula with no water. Just set them down and walked right by them and about 2 miles later reached down to get a drink and there were no bottles. But they saved them for me and I picked them up out of the trailer after dinner so it was all good. Tomorrow is a shorter day but with more climbing so it will be another long day. But there is more cool weather in store so that should make it more pleasant.
Lookin good Mr. Marshall! Amazing scenery too.
